Sadly we didn't get a new roadmap of what is coming beyond 3.0, next year. The best news we got from this year's Citizencon have to do with CIG's decision to focus on quarterly releases and more regular updates after the release of the Alpha 3.0 update, something that hopefully is possible thanks to the Delta patcher. A mobile construction yard that is making base building a reality and the Sabre Raven, a more compact and stealthier Sabre with EMP weaponry that, for now at least, can only be obtained with the purchase of an Intel Optane SSD 900P and will be fly ready with the 3.0 update. The Pioneer, the game changer ship, was finally revealed. Two new ships made their appearance during the event as well. We also had a quick look at the space stations of the game and it was really nice to see them coming along nicely. We were able to visit ArcCorp and Hurston, two of the Stanton system's planets and witness how different, diverse the moons and planets of Star Citizen are going to be but also learn that the big populated planets in the verse will have multiple landing zones, something that will make their exploration easier and give us a lot more freedom in general. The highlight of the event was Chris Roberts' keynote address and our very first look at the procedural cities of Star Citizen. With five different presentations throughout the whole day, from the Art and Tech of the Stanton system to the introduction of the Pioneer and base building to the game we had the opportunity to take a good look behind the scenes and understand better how many different aspects of Star Citizen work. Without any doubt this year's Citizencon was one of the best Star Citizen events lately, thanks to not only the new and improved format that CIG have decided to follow this year but also the spectacular look at the procedural cities of Star Citizen, at the end of the event. ![]() So hopefully with the next Burndown report we will also learn when we will get an Alpha 3.0 wide PTU release, something that will bring us even closer to an official Alpha 3.0 release. Next week is going to be especially important for the Alpha 3.0 update and this is because the developers will have a revised production report that will highlight the remaining features that need completing before a wider PTU release. According to the latest production report 17 must fix issues still remain before the next phase of the Evocati testing can begin. Our focus last week was on Citizencon 2017 and for a very good reason as it proved, but the hard work of the developers and the Evocati continued.
